Emmaboda Municipality is Hiring a Board Coordinator
Emmaboda Municipality is in an exciting development phase where the modern small town is being built. The municipality is a hub in the heart of southeast Sweden, with proximity to both beautiful nature and the cities of Kalmar, Karlskrona, and Växjö. The overarching and common goal is to continuously develop so that the municipality is attractive to live, work, and thrive in, as well as being an attractive employer.
1 position(s).
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Board Coordinator with us, you work closely with both civil servants and elected officials in a central and important function within the municipality. You are organizationally placed in the secretariat department, which belongs to the Municipal Executive Office, but you work in close collaboration with administration directors, presidiums, and operations related to the Social Committee and the Building and Environment Committee.
The role involves responsibility for two committees and covers the entire committee process from planning and coordination to implementation and follow-up. The work is characterized by a continuous flow where structure, foresight, and quality are crucial. When a protocol is approved, the work on the next meeting begins. You are also responsible for the Senior Citizens' Council and the Accessibility Council.
In addition, other administration tasks are included.
You are also part of the Election Secretariat, which means you need to be able to balance an increased workload during the election year. Weekend and evening work may occur during this period.
Responsibilities include among other things:
- planning and coordinating the work of the committees
- preparing invitations, agendas, and protocols
- ensuring quality of cases and decision materials
- providing support to the presidium, managers, and operations in administrative and formal matters
- attending committee meetings
- covering for colleagues during absence
- reading out motion proposals if the Chairperson wishes and answering questions regarding process and formalities
- working in case management systems and with document administration
- coordinating practical aspects of meetings such as premises and meeting logistics
- actively working to develop and streamline the committee process.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
- a university degree in, for example, political science, public administration, social sciences, law, or another education that the employer deems equivalent
or
- at least three years of experience working as a Board Coordinator or Board Secretary in municipal operations.
It is meritorious if you have:
- experience working in a politically governed organization
- knowledge of the Local Government Act and public access and secrecy legislation
- experience with case management systems
- experience in administrative coordination or process development
To thrive with us, you need to appreciate a job with many contact surfaces, recurring processes, and clear deadlines. You are structured, meticulous, and confident in handling several parallel work tasks simultaneously.
Since the role involves close collaboration with both colleagues, managers, and elected officials, you need to be communicative, unpretentious, and have an easy time building good relationships. You are also comfortable speaking in front of groups and can act professionally in public settings.
We are a smaller municipality where we help each other across boundaries when needed. Therefore, we are looking for you who are flexible, solution-oriented, and see the value of contributing to the whole, whether it involves qualified case handling or practical parts before a meeting.
We will call current candidates for interviews continuously during the application period. Before employment, extracts from the criminal record register will need to be presented.
Employment type: Permanent position.
To ensure the quality of the recruitment process and enable good communication with you as an applicant, we receive applications digitally. If you need to send your application in another way due to accessibility reasons, you are welcome to contact the hiring manager.
The employees of Emmaboda Municipality should reflect the diversity found in the municipality. We welcome applicants regardless of age, gender, and foreign background.
We expressly decline contact with media salespeople, recruitment sites, and similar.
