As a case manager specializing in information security, you are responsible for specifying requirements, supporting, developing, and monitoring the Swedish diplomatic service's work on information protection. The mission is to ensure that information is handled at the appropriate level of protection regarding confidentiality, integrity, and availability, in accordance with current regulations. The position involves both strategic and operational tasks and entails providing advanced support to foreign missions on matters concerning intelligence threats from foreign powers, information security, and security protection, including signal security, as well as related legislation. The role includes conducting training initiatives and contributing to strengthening the security culture within the organization. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other functions within the Government Offices and with external partners.
The position is based in Stockholm and involves frequent travel to Swedish foreign missions, including locations with challenging security contexts. Regular on-call duty is also part of the assignment.
Your Background
You hold a relevant academic degree, such as a Master of Science in Engineering or a degree in information security, IT security, systems science, law, or political science, or alternatively, other education combined with experience considered equivalent.
You have several years of experience working with advanced information security and security protection within a government agency or another large organization. You have independently analyzed and worked with risks related to information handling, as well as developed and revised governing documents and translated regulations into practical routines and protective measures.
You have excellent knowledge of intelligence threats from foreign powers, security protection legislation, and other relevant regulations for public sector operations, as well as the ability to apply these in complex environments.
Experience in implementing or auditing information security management systems, supervision or other audit activities, as well as work within the Government Offices, the foreign service, or other security-sensitive operations is meritorious. Relevant certifications are also considered an advantage.
You express yourself very well orally and in writing in both Swedish and English. You have a valid driver's license (Category B).
Your Attributes
The role demands high integrity, sound judgment, and analytical sharpness. You can independently assess threats, risks, and vulnerabilities, and make clear and well-founded trade-offs between operational needs and protection requirements.
You are an experienced advisor in security matters and confident in providing qualified recommendations even in complex and sensitive contexts. You can represent security issues clearly and objectively, even when perspectives differ, and stand firm in your professional assessments.
You have experience in training and raising security awareness within organizations. Your pedagogical skills enable you to explain advanced security requirements and threat landscapes in a structured and business-adapted manner for different target groups.
You work in a structured and independent manner, prioritize under time pressure, and drive issues forward with persistence. At the same time, you have strong collaborative skills and build trust in dialogue with managers and employees across different parts of the organization.
