The Education Department is responsible for preschool, primary school, after-school centers, upper secondary school, adult education, as well as child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, together creating a safe and developmental school and childcare environment.

Edvinshemsskolan, built in the 1980s, is located in the western part of Ystad. The school is within walking distance to both the sea and central Ystad.

Edvinshemsskolan consists of two school buildings, Edvinshem and Edvinshus. Edvinshem houses students from preschool class up to grade three, as well as adapted primary school for students in grades one to six. Edvinshus, located about a five-minute walk from Edvinshem, welcomes students from grades four to six.

The after-school center, located at Edvinshem, offers children a meaningful leisure time both before and after the school day.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an engaged teacher in mathematics, natural sciences, and technology for grades 4–6.

Do you want to help awaken students' curiosity and interest in mathematics, natural sciences, and technology?

In the role of teacher with us, you will:

• Plan and conduct teaching that inspires and motivates students in grades 4–6.
• Adapt teaching and materials based on students' different needs and prerequisites.
• Stimulate students' curiosity, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking within mathematics, natural sciences, and technology.
• Help students see connections between theory, everyday life, and the world around them through practical and investigative work.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a creative and developmental learning environment.
• Actively participate in the school's development work and contribute ideas and experience to the pedagogical work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Have teacher certification with eligibility in mathematics, natural science subjects, and technology.
• Have a strong interest in mathematics, natural sciences, and technology and want to inspire students to curiosity and learning.
• Are flexible, creative, and positive towards changes and new challenges.
• Have good collaboration and communication skills and build safe and professional relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
• Enjoy working together with colleagues in a culture characterized by collaboration, support, and development.
• Believe in learning that is joyful, challenging, and meaningful.
• See the whole student's development and value the work with both knowledge development and social development.
• Have good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing.
