In Ludvika, children and young people are important! We demonstrate this by placing children and young people at the center of the municipal organization. Most resources directed towards children and young people have been consolidated under a single committee. This includes preschools, primary schools, special needs schools, and individual and family care services. A conscious quality effort to continuously develop and improve work with children and young people is common to all operations.

The Workplace

Nyhammer and Sunnansjö schools are two smaller F-6 schools (grades 1-6) in Ludvika Municipality. Currently, there are approximately 140 students at Nyhammer School and about 80 students at Sunnansjö School. Each school has its own after-school center staffed by dedicated personnel who also offer high-quality break-time activities and various initiatives for student safety during the school day. For the 2026/2027 school year, we have certified teachers in all classes, along with highly skilled teaching assistants who complement them. We also have staff distributed across both schools, such as PE teachers and craft teachers, as well as the student health team including the school nurse, school counselor, and school psychologist. At present, we are missing a special needs teacher in the team, and we hope that you, reading this announcement, feel that this is exactly the job you are looking for. Those of us who work at Nyhammer and Sunnansjö schools do so with the desire to create the best school for every student who attends us.

Your Responsibilities

As a special needs teacher, your task is to contribute special educational competence to both the school's pedagogical work and the student health team's preventive, health-promoting, and remedial initiatives. You have an overarching role that is both strategic and operational. This means you analyze and organize initiatives at both the school and group levels, and you also work focused on individual needs for special support among individual students. The work will be varied and involve many important contacts with students, guardians, staff, and external actors. The work requires your ability to be flexible, able to plan, organize, prioritize, and create structure. A prerequisite for the work is having an inclusive and relational approach, as we work on developing our learning environments and accessibility for all students in our schools.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a certified teacher with a special needs teacher degree, preferably with a focus on language, reading, and writing, or alternatively mathematics.

We assume that you are well-versed in both the school's governing documents and in student health work involving preventive, health-promoting, and remedial initiatives. You work in collaboration with other professions in the student health team, but you are also confident in making your own decisions and find it easy to work independently and in a structured manner. You are meticulous, flexible, and receptive, and above all, you enjoy working with children and young people. Great importance will be placed on personal qualities and suitability. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is of great importance.

What You Get From Us!

In addition to working with exciting questions in a varied everyday life, you will have the opportunity to become part of an organization that maintains important social functions for residents of Ludvika Municipality. As an employee, you have access to health and wellness benefits and good opportunities for professional development. Please read more on ludvika.se under the heading "Work With Us".

In Ludvika Municipality, we work according to our value foundation, "Lagandan," which consists of four principles: Relationships, Joy, Learning, and Drive.
