Workplace Description
Associate Professor Marcus Järås's research group at the Department of Clinical Genetics conducts translational research in immuno-oncology and is now seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to strengthen the team. The successful candidate will primarily work on in vivo-based gene therapy projects involving CAR-macrophages as a new treatment strategy for leukemia.
The postdoctoral researcher will work in close collaboration with a biomedical analyst, a research engineer, and two doctoral students. Additionally, the postdoc will be part of the Department of Clinical Genetics, which comprises ten research groups as well as the Lund Stem Cell Center.

Duties and Responsibilities
You will have primary responsibility for the development and evaluation of an in vivo-based gene therapy strategy based on CAR-macrophages.
The work will include DNA cloning, functional in vitro analyses, and studies using an AML PDX mouse model established within the research group.
Qualifications
You have experience working with functional in vitro and in vivo analyses.
Experience in the following areas is considered advantageous:

- Sequencing technologies
- Cell culture
- Bioinformatics
- DNA cloning
- Single-cell analyses
Requirements for Employment:
- Experience working with laboratory animals
- Experience with cell culture
- PhD in a relevant field
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. The position requires the ability to work independently as well as very good collaboration and communication skills.

Eligibility
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, the applicant must have completed a PhD or hold a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD in a subject area relevant to the position (e.g., biology, biomedicine, medicine, or chemistry).
The degree should normally have been completed no more than three years before the application deadline. Under special circumstances, the degree may have been completed earlier.
Other Information
The position is a full-time employment, fixed-term for two years, starting September 1, 2026, or as agreed. There may be a possibility to extend the employment by an additional year. Interviews will be conducted on-site in Lund or via Zoom, starting June 15, 2026.
