We are now looking for an engaged upper secondary school teacher in Swedish as a Second Language who wants to teach with heart, mind, and a touch of humor.

About the position

As an upper secondary school teacher in Swedish as a Second Language, you will primarily teach at the upper secondary level, but there may also be elements of adult education depending on needs. You will become an important part of a municipal consortium that works every day for education, community services, and student health.

• Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching in Swedish as a Second Language
• Adapt teaching based on students' different needs and prerequisites
• Work formatively with assessment and grading according to current regulations
• Contribute to safety, study environment, and good relationships in the classroom
• Collaborate with student health services and other functions to support students' goal achievement

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are passionate about language, learning, and people – not for perfection.

• Certified teacher with qualifications in Swedish as a Second Language at the upper secondary level
• At least 1–2 years of documented teaching experience, preferably from upper secondary school
• Good ability to create structure, study environment, and clarity in the classroom
• Confident in using digital tools for teaching, documentation, and communication
• Meritorious with experience of SVA in multicultural learning environments

• Relationship-building and curious about students' different backgrounds
• Solution-focused and calm when many things are happening at once
• Secure in yourself, but not afraid to try new working methods
• Communicative, non-hierarchical, and accustomed to collaborating in teams

About the terms of employment

The position is a permanent full-time employment with holiday pay, starting from August 2026. In some cases, we apply a probationary period of up to 6 months and require a certificate of good conduct upon employment.
