Vittra Schools is one of Sweden's leading independent school companies with 24 preschools and primary schools across the country. Together, we are responsible for approximately 8,000 children and students and have around 1,000 employees. We started our first school in 1993 and have been part of AcadeMedia, the largest education company in the Nordics, since 2008. Vittra is a socially engaged preschool and primary school where children and students learn about themselves and the world. With us, conscious children and students are formed who receive the right tools and knowledge to create a better and more sustainable society. We do this with our unique pedagogical approach based on three parts: conscious learning, courageous culture, and clear structure.
Vittra Adolfsberg is a primary school that has gone "from chaos to success" (see articles in Framtidens karriär - primary school teacher 2022-10-04 and in Helsingborgs Dagblad 2021-10-11).
We offer you:
Vittra Adolfsberg is a school where many cultures blend, and where you as an adult role model make a difference every day together with the students and your wonderful, engaged colleagues. We are a parallel school with approximately 240 students from preschool class up to year 9, where classes consist of about 22-25 students.
Our school has a climate characterized by warmth, joy, humor, seriousness, community, collaboration, and engagement. We are a resource-rich school where every individual is incredibly important and where no one stands alone in their work. Together, we build a safe and challenging environment where everyone gets to develop, both students and adults.
Currently, there are three full-time positions within special education at the school. One of them is now vacant, and we want to recruit a special needs teacher to our wonderful team. If our school and our way of thinking match your expectations, we hope you will apply for the position.
In addition to being part of the school's student health team, we work school-wide in our collegial learning where all work teams participate together with the student health team and school leadership. For us, collaboration is a crucial factor in creating teaching, a learning environment, and a relational climate that leads to higher goal achievement.
We have had very low staff turnover for 5 years, and we know this is a workplace where you want to thrive. In our latest quality survey among staff, the following emerged among other things:
100% of staff believe:
- that they are satisfied with their workplace
- that they experience the work as important and meaningful
- that they have good conditions to perform their duties
Our staff experience that they have very good conditions to perform their tasks satisfactorily and that there is time to carry out their duties without feeling stressed. In addition, there is a very fine sense of cohesion and many laughs!
This is what your future students and colleagues want:
You who apply to us want a workplace that corresponds to what we have described above. What is central for us - and what we are looking for in you, besides your subject knowledge and competence, of course - is joy, humor, community, collaboration, and engagement, and you are a person who prefers to talk about solutions rather than getting stuck in problems and difficulties.
You are educated and certified as a special needs teacher, and you feel secure in your role. You have experience working with students in need of special support at different ages. You have a positive attitude towards your work and you dare to show both creativity and humor.
You have the ability and willingness to build relationships with both students and adults. You enjoy collaborating and working with others to help colleagues identify and understand children's differences and needs.
You preferably have broad knowledge about different functional variations and children in need of special support. You have knowledge and ideas on how you want to work together with other educators to create the best conditions for all students. Your student focus and relational perspective are clear and reflected in your approach in everyday life.
In your professional role, you are engaged, professional, and proactive. You are also responsible and structured, with good ability to plan and prioritize your work effectively, and you have the ability to speak up and ask for help if needed.
You will work with student support work at the organizational, group, and individual levels, and we would appreciate it if you have knowledge of materials, working methods, and approaches to help students create structure, clarity, and accessibility in learning.
You are part of the student health team and will have an important role in our work to develop a student-supporting activity at the school together with the team's other competencies, where there are currently two special needs teachers, a counselor, a school nurse, and, to a lesser extent, a school doctor and school psychologist.
One of the most important things for us is that your collaboration skills are very good. We want a team player with the ability to look beyond personal interests, where the work for students happens in collaboration with others.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability, and interviews will take place together with representatives from the school's student health team.
