Your new job

We are looking for a teacher with a broad musical background. Depending on your profile, this may include teaching piano, voice, ensemble, and/or other secondary instruments. The final scope of the position will be tailored to your individual profile and combined competencies, with a primary focus on piano instruction. Together with your colleagues, you will develop our school's instrumental teaching with the ambition of lowering barriers and creating more pathways into a more equitable and accessible cultural school.

You see every student individually and, through your knowledge and pedagogical skills, provide challenges that contribute to developing and preparing the student for what could become a strong interest, a hobby, or even a career in the future.

Our cultural school has approximately 50 creative employees who work with great commitment to give children and young people the opportunity to develop through teaching, experiences, and their own creation in music, dance, visual arts, film, and theater. We also conduct outreach and open activities to reach even more children and young people.

Within our core operations, we primarily teach from early afternoon into the evening, but we also work with initiatives such as "Grundkurs" (Basic Course) and "Kulturtrappa" (Cultural Staircase), both of which involve offering various cultural activities to entire grade levels within the compulsory school system.

The Cultural School has its own premises in both Jönköping and Huskvarna. Teaching also takes place at several of the municipality's compulsory schools.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are a competent educator and musician with a university degree in music pedagogy or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.

You have experience teaching instrumental music to children and young people. It is an advantage if you have a broad genre range and are accustomed to handling modern music tools such as synthesizers, software instruments, music production tools, etc. You have good pedagogical skills and a clear desire to help children and young people develop through cultural practice. In your role, you start from the student's interest and inspire and adapt the teaching to each unique context. You are creative, responsible, flexible, and well-organized; you work independently and collaborate easily with others. You understand the importance of acting and communicating professionally towards students, guardians, colleagues, and partners. You have good knowledge of digital tools, both pedagogical and administrative, and use them actively in your teaching. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
