About Us
We are looking for a case handler who wants to work in a team-based manner and continue to develop our work in maintaining good legal certainty while providing support and service.
As a case handler, you will exercise public authority and be responsible for supervising guardians, custodians, and administrators. The operations are regulated by law, which places high demands on handling cases correctly in accordance with, among other things, the Parental Code, the Guardianship Ordinance, the Act on Guardians for Unaccompanied Children, the Administrative Procedure Act, and the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act.

Your Role
As a Senior Guardianship Case Handler, you will work with qualified case processing within the public sector and the exercise of public authority, playing a key role in maintaining legal certainty and correct legislation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing cases in accordance with current legislation
- Investigating and assessing applications and reports regarding guardianship, administration, and curatorship
- Handling cases regarding property sales and estate settlements
- Economic supervision, for example, by reviewing annual reports
- Recruitment and control of new representatives
- Training and information for existing representatives
- Administrative tasks such as registration, archiving, sorting, and mail handling
- Participating in the unit's operational development
- Representing the Senior Guardianship Board in court hearings

Your Profile
To thrive in the role of Senior Guardianship Case Handler at Östersund Municipality, you are required to have education as an economist, lawyer, or other academic education that the employer finds relevant. In addition, we would appreciate if you have:
- Experience in qualified case processing within the public sector and the exercise of public authority
- Legal and practical experience in estate settlements and deceased estates
- Good knowledge of current legislation and legal certainty
- Very good computer skills
- Category B driver's license
