Your new job

We are looking for a dance teacher with broad competence in various dance disciplines, as well as high pedagogical skills capable of meeting different age groups and varying class sizes. The role may include teaching dance play, dance mix, jazz, ballet, and modern dance. Part of the position will also involve teaching dance within our basic cultural course. In this capacity, you will visit various primary schools and meet children in year 2 in full-class settings. The final scope of the position will be tailored to your personal profile and combined competencies.

You see each student individually and, through your knowledge and pedagogical ability, provide challenges that contribute to developing and preparing the student for what may become a strong interest, a hobby, or even a career in the future.

This is a fixed-term position extending from 2026-08-06 to 2027-06-16.

We prefer that you have a category B driver's license and access to your own car.

Our cultural school has approximately 50 creative employees who, with great commitment, work to give children and young people the opportunity to develop through teaching, experiences, and their own creation within music, dance, visual arts, film, and theater. We also conduct outreach and open activities to reach even more children and young people.

We teach within our core operations primarily from early afternoon until evening, but we also work with, for example, the so-called basic course and cultural ladder, both of which mean that we offer various cultural activities to entire grade levels within primary school and adapted primary school.

The Cultural School has its own premises in both Jönköping and Huskvarna.

Your competence

We are looking for you who are a competent educator with a university degree or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.

You have experience teaching dance to children and young people. A wide genre breadth is a requirement. You have good pedagogical skills and a clear desire to help children and young people develop through dance and cultural practice. In your role, you start from the student, inspire, and adapt the teaching to each unique context. You are creative, responsible, flexible, and well-organized; you work independently and collaborate easily with others. You understand the importance of acting and expressing yourself professionally towards students, guardians, colleagues, and partners. You have good knowledge of digital tools, both pedagogical and administrative, and use them actively in your teaching. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
