About the role

In the summer of 2022, Synsam opened Northern Europe's first large-scale and modern manufacturing industry for eyeglasses on Frösön in Östersund. We are now looking for a Production Controller who will be responsible for the financial follow-up and analysis of production. In this role, you will work closely with the management group and serve as a key support in strategic and operational decision-making. A major focus is placed on ensuring efficient and cost-aware production by analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement, and monitoring financial results.

The role will include among other things:

• Follow up and analyze production costs, efficiency, and key performance indicators.
• Conduct variance analysis and propose measures for improved profitability.
• Assist in the preparation of investment calculations, product costings, and decision support materials.
• Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Participate in the development of routines and system support for production control.
• Work cross-functionally within production as well as with financial functions within the group to drive business development and improvement work.
• Be a key user in production-critical systems, such as ERP and reporting tools.

Who we are looking for

To succeed as well as possible in the role, we believe you have post-secondary education in economics and some years of experience as a Controller, preferably if you have previously worked in production. Furthermore, you have experience with an ERP system, and experience with SAP is a plus.

As a person, we believe you thrive when taking on challenges where everything is not pre-packaged – you like to influence, shape, and establish structures where needed. Your logical thinking allows you to see connections across multiple levels and analyze complex flows.

Furthermore, you have strong drive and curiosity that makes you constantly seek new ways forward. You easily identify what needs to be done, even when frameworks are loose, and you enjoy working solution-oriented. You are self-motivated and take initiative, while also collaborating well with colleagues and building good relationships with many different contact surfaces.

Other details about the position

The position is based at Synsam Innovation Center, Frösön. In the role of Production Controller, you will report to Kristoffer Bång, Engineering Manager at Synsam. The position is a full-time temporary assignment with a start date to be agreed upon. Currently, there are about 60 people working at Synsam's production & innovation center in various roles, of which you will be part of a team of 12 people who collaborate closely together.
