Visby Hospital is Gotland's only hospital and includes units for both emergency and planned care, such as an emergency department, as well as specialties within medicine, surgery, cardiology, infectious diseases, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, pediatrics, maternity, gynecology, orthopedics, operating rooms, and intensive care. Psychiatry is also part of the hospital's services but is located geographically separate from the main hospital in its own facilities.

The staffing unit's task is to cover short-term vacancies within the healthcare sector's emergency operations, inpatient wards, and some outpatient clinics when substitutes are needed.

We are now looking for assistant nurses for hourly employment via the staffing unit's substitute pool.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of an hourly assistant nurse with us, you get a unique opportunity to care for patients across several different levels of care and medical specialties, primarily on inpatient wards but also within other units in healthcare. You choose yourself if you are interested in two or more units, and we build your introduction based on your experience and needs.

You work closely with patients, performing standard nursing and medical tasks within the area of operation and the assistant nurse's field of knowledge. You also perform surrounding care-related tasks necessary for the care to function.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have one of the following qualifications:

• Professional assistant nurse
• Specialist assistant nurse
• Recently graduated assistant nurse awaiting professional certification from the National Board of Health and Welfare
• Nursing student who has completed T3
• Medical student who has completed T6

To be considered for the position, proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is also required.

We consider it an advantage if you have previous experience working in emergency care and/or primary care.

As of July 1, 2023, "assistant nurse" is a protected job title. This means you need to apply for and receive a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse within care and social services. If you already have an issued certificate, we request that you attach it to your application.
