Are you an experienced and communicative leader? Do you have a deep understanding of the GDPR and the ability to translate legal requirements into practical benefits? As a Unit Manager with us, you have a crucial role leading Data Protection Officers in one of Sweden’s largest public organizations.

As the Unit Manager for the Data Protection Unit at Intraservice, your primary responsibility is to ensure that the citizens of Gothenburg can trust how the city’s operations handle their personal data. You lead a team of seven competent Data Protection Officers who support and audit the city’s departments and companies.

Your role involves being a manager in Gothenburg City with the task of leading from parts to the whole, creating the right conditions for the Data Protection Officers to exercise their independent audit function, while also serving as a Data Protection Officer yourself.

Gothenburg City and its data protection work are currently in a development phase. Therefore, you must be able to act confidently in a context with differing viewpoints, be a skilled change leader, and have the ability to navigate changing circumstances.

As Unit Manager, you have overall responsibility for employees, results, and budget. One of your most important tasks is to lead and develop, create structure, and set clear goals and priorities together with the group. You work practically to develop and improve our working methods so that data protection becomes both legally secure and easy to follow for the entire city. A large part of your day involves promoting good collaboration between operational needs, the city’s data protection functions, information and IT security, and legal departments, while ensuring that your employees' expertise is utilized in a safe and stimulating work environment.

About You

We are looking for you with a relevant university degree and several years of leadership experience. You are accustomed to planning operations, following up on results, driving changes that make a difference, and handling personnel, work environment, and budget matters.

Since the assignment requires specialist knowledge, you must have a good understanding of the GDPR and the national legislation governing how personal data is handled within the public sector. To succeed in this role, we also see that you are familiar with risk management as well as information and IT security.

As a person, you are a secure, communicative, and responsive role model who motivates your employees towards common goals through a clear and inspiring approach. Since the role involves many contact areas – both within the city and externally – you are skilled at building trusting collaborations, whether you are talking to technical specialists, management groups, committees, or boards. You have a genuine interest in improvement work and are not afraid to prioritize and make the decisions required to create long-term value for Gothenburg City.
