Stiernhööksgymnasiet is beautifully located on the shores of Lake Siljan and is a high school with approximately 500 students. It is a unique high school with proud traditions and a student body from all over Sweden. The school has a documented high degree of goal fulfillment with very good educational quality. The school offers programs such as Construction and Infrastructure, Economics, Electrical and Energy, Natural Resources (with specializations in animal care, horse keeping, and agriculture), Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, as well as the four introductory programs. The school also offers adapted national programs for upper secondary education; Forestry, Land and Animals, and Property, Infrastructure and Construction. Additionally, the school offers National Sports Education (NIU) in equestrian sports and bandy, as well as Local Sports Education (LIU) in various sports. The school has a student boarding house with over 130 beds, as well as food production within the framework of the agricultural education. Parts of the production are served at the municipality's kitchens. Rättvik thus has Sweden's most locally produced school food.

Description

Stiernhööksgymnasiet provides adult education in agriculture and is now seeking a teacher in agricultural subjects for Komvux (Adult Education). The education aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills required for work in agriculture.

Job Description

The position involves teaching within a basic education in agriculture with optional specializations and entails responsibility for the planning, implementation, and follow-up of the education. The position may involve teaching in various subject areas, such as agricultural animals, animal husbandry, crop production, machinery, and technical equipment in agriculture, as well as business economics. Practical moments are conducted at Stiernhööksgymnasiet, and Workplace Learning (APL) takes place with external partners. The adult education is partly conducted online, which places special demands on the planning of teaching and the design of assignments. The position entails main responsibility for the Komvux education, while you are part of a work team consisting of high school teachers and instructors at the school. Within Komvux, distance education and validation are common, where established working methods and experience are available for support.

Qualifications

You who apply for the position have at least an agricultural education at the upper secondary level. It is an advantage if you have post-secondary education in agriculture, such as agronomist, farm manager, or agrotechnician. We also appreciate if you have previous experience working as a vocational teacher, preferably within natural resources or agriculture.

The position requires good experience working with agricultural animals. It is meritorious if you have broader knowledge within agriculture, for example in animal feed production and crop production.

As a person, you are proactive and have good ability to collaborate with many different contacts. You have the ability to create structure and clarity in your teaching and work independently in a responsible manner.

You are organized, solution-oriented, and thrive working towards set goals in a quality-conscious manner. You are computer literate, have a pedagogical approach, and master the Swedish language well in both speech and writing.
