We are looking for temporary staff for Lerum Municipality's preschools for the autumn term 2026. If you are interested in starting work before the summer, that is also possible.

As a temporary staff member, you will be employed through Lerum Municipality's Staffing Unit. The assignments cover periods when permanent staff are absent, which can range from short-term substitutions to longer-term replacements.

How it works:

You will be employed on an intermittent basis (temporary staff) and will receive ongoing requests for work shifts – sometimes with same-day notice, and sometimes with longer lead time. You indicate your availability for work in our digital booking system, where you can also express interest in specific shifts.

As a temporary staff member, work assignments can vary from day to day, and you may work in different preschools throughout the municipality. Working hours are during the day on weekdays.

Job Responsibilities

You are a safe and positive role model for our children and support them in their play, learning, and social development. You help create calm and clarity in everyday life.

By being actively present, you guide and encourage the children in their activities, participate in play, and contribute to a safe, stimulating, and structured environment.

The work is varied and involves significant responsibility and independence.

Examples of tasks:

• Participate in and lead activities and games, both indoors and outdoors
• Support children in their language development, motor skills, and social interaction
• Assist with routine situations such as meals, dressing/undressing, and rest
• Be a present adult who creates a sense of security throughout the day
• Follow the daily plan set up by permanent staff and contribute to the smooth operation of the activity
• Provide extra support to individual children or small groups if needed

Qualifications

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who easily builds connections in social situations and can quickly build trusting relationships with children. You take responsibility, show initiative, and feel confident working independently.

You have a good ability to structure your work and drive it forward, while being responsive, attentive, and enjoying collaboration within the work team.

You need to be able to adapt to new children's groups, working methods, and daily routines, as well as handle situations that arise during the day in the preschool independently.

Education and Experience

If you are a trained preschool teacher or childcare worker, it is an advantage, but we also welcome those without formal education. Experience from working in preschools, childcare, service jobs, or other roles where you support or help people is considered an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
