We offer you the opportunity to become part of a world-leading product company developing technically advanced and socially critical systems, in an environment where quality, long-term perspective, and continuous learning are in focus. Here, technical development, well-being in daily work, and a safer world are valued constantly!
About the roleWe are now looking for an Aviation Safety Engineer for a company that develops advanced command and control systems for both the Swedish Air Force and international customers. Here, aviation safety is a central part throughout the entire development chain – from risk analysis to verification and approval.
Unlike traditional aircraft systems, you will work here with ground-based systems that enable communication and collaboration with airborne units, in a complex airspace where both civilian and military actors operate in parallel.
You will become part of an established organization where processes and working methods are in place, but where the need is now to strengthen and relieve the existing team in ongoing and upcoming development cycles. The work is continuous and cyclical – new features are developed continuously and analyzed from an aviation safety perspective.
In the role, you will among other things:
Drive and support aviation safety work in development projects
Analyze how new functionality affects aviation safety and requirements
Work with risk analyses and methods such as FMEA
Ensure that safety requirements are integrated into system design and verification
Collaborate closely with developers, verification teams, and system engineers
You belong to a team of approximately 10 people, of whom 3 work dedicated to aviation safety. In total, you collaborate in a larger context with approximately 15 people within systems engineering, IT security, and aviation safety. Everyone is co-located, which provides short decision paths and close collaboration throughout the entire development chain.
Your qualificationsWe see two possible entry points into the role and are open to adapting the profile based on market availability.
Option 1 – Aviation Safety ProfileExperience with aviation safety work in technology-intensive environments, preferably with a connection to software
Experience with standards and frameworks such as ED-153, DO-178 (B/C), DO-278, ED-109, SWAL, or work within an EASA-regulated environment
Experience with requirements management, risk analysis, and verification in safety-critical systems
Experience with system safety within software or safety-critical systems
Experience with hazard analysis, risk classification, traceability, and verification
Background from, for example:
safety-critical software
embedded systems
automotive (e.g., ISO 26262)
railway or other regulated environments
Interest and willingness to develop within aviation safety
Regardless of background, we would still like you to have:
Experience working in complex technical systems
Ability to quickly get up to speed in new domains and regulations
Good knowledge of English and Swedish
Swedish citizenship
This position is located in security-classified operations. To be employed, you must undergo and be approved according to current security clearance procedures.
Personal qualitiesTo thrive in the role, we see that you are:
Self-reliant and confident in driving your work forward
Communicative and find it easy to collaborate with different functions
Structured and analytical in your approach to work
You do not need to be extroverted, but you should be comfortable in dialogue with others and able to contribute to technical discussions.
OtherSalary: Fixed monthly salary
Scope: Full-time, permanent
Start: Immediately, taking into account any notice period
Location: Stockholm (hybrid work is not possible)
