About the Job
As a Care Teacher within the Elderly Care Lift (Äldreomsorgslyftet), you have an important mission to educate tomorrow's assistant nurses. You work based on the school's governing documents and in collaboration with the workplaces' needs. The Elderly Care Lift is a commissioned education developed in cooperation with the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken. Students on the course combine work as care assistants with their studies. The teaching has fixed lesson times, but these vary between on-site attendance and digital remote lessons.
Job Description
You teach care subjects concerning psychology, psychiatry, social care, health, and healthcare, among other things. The position involves planning, conducting, and evaluating the teaching based on governing documents and the students' needs. You will be part of a competent subject team with engaged colleagues from whom you can receive support and help. The teaching should build on the students' previous experiences, while you as a teacher are the hub of the education and in helping the students move forward towards their set goals. You are responsible for contacting the students' workplaces if necessary to validate modules or collaborate regarding the students' study planning. As a teacher at VBU, you provide leadership that challenges and creates trusting relationships with high engagement.
About You
You have a degree in relevant care subjects and are preferably a licensed vocational teacher. Furthermore, you have good digital competence and experience working in various digital platforms. Merits:
- Nursing degree.
- Previous experience in teaching.
- Experience and/or education in working with language- and knowledge-developing methods.

Västerbergslagens Utbildningsförbund (VBU) is a municipal consortium that provides upper secondary education, adult education, university college education, and commissioned education. Employment Terms
The position is a fixed-term employment with holiday service extending from August 2026 to May 2027. Possibility of extension based on necessary decisions. Start date based on agreement.
