About Vallbacksskolan

Vallbacksskolan's vision is to have safe students with high goal achievement, and we work actively to achieve this. We have approximately 550 students in grades 7-9 and in the adapted primary school grades 6-9. We also have an autism spectrum group. To ensure our students are safe and achieve high goals, our focus areas are:

• Knowledge, development, and learning
• Norms, values, and influence
• Student health and well-being

Children, parents, and staff within the school should feel that the activities are meaningful and lead to beneficial development. Learning should take place in a safe and positive atmosphere. In the Vallbacks principal's area, all focus is directed towards the children. The students' need for learning is a guiding star in the operations. Teachers' satisfaction lies in the fact that when students leave Vallbacksskolan, they are well-prepared and motivated for further studies at high school. Learning should be joyful!

Job Responsibilities

Are you an engaged and relationship-building teacher in Swedish, Swedish as a Second Language (SVA), and English who wants to make a real difference for our students? Gävle Municipality is now looking for someone who wants to contribute with both subject knowledge and pedagogical skill, and who, together with us, wants to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment where every student is given the opportunity to succeed.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Teaching and mentoring responsibility, as well as responsibility for mapping, planning, implementation, and evaluation of lessons. The work is carried out according to decided goals and guidelines.
• Together with your colleagues, you design a good, joyful, and varied school day with the students' best interests in focus. You challenge and support the students so that they achieve good study results. The work is carried out in collaboration with other pedagogues, student health services, guardians, and other actors outside the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a teacher's degree and a teaching license with eligibility to teach in grades 7-9 and the subjects SV/SVA/EN.
• Is familiar with and has knowledge of the primary school curriculum.
• Has the ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing.
• Has knowledge of and experience with digital tools, for example documentation in Unikum or Office.

To succeed in the role as a teacher:

• You take initiative in social contexts and have the ability to build trust in your professional relationships.
• You have a non-competitive approach in your collaboration with colleagues, students, and citizens.
• You have the ability to lead and motivate students and get them to enjoy and feel well in school.
• You are structured and plan your work well. You are also good at creating an open dialogue and adapting your language based on the current situation.
• You have a good ability to make students feel a sense of belonging and to be included.

As a final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement that you present an extract from the criminal register for work within school or preschool. The criminal register extract is ordered on the police website.

Interviews will take place during week 18.
