This autumn, we will open the doors to Gävle's new Fridhem School. It is a single-track school for grades 1-6 with new premises and a fantastic schoolyard. The school is part of the Nynäs principal area. Engaged staff work at the school, and there is a strong interest among everyone to develop the school activities so that students get a solid foundation. The school's ambition is for students to feel safe at school and achieve good academic results.
We are now looking for a new colleague with a focus on handicrafts (crafts).

RESPONSIBILITIES
Your task is to lead students in their learning through planned, safe, and stimulating teaching moments. You give students the opportunity to explore materials, techniques, and ideas, and you help them turn their own thoughts into clear products and processes. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to a joyful, varied, and qualitative school day where students' development and well-being are in focus. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other educators, student health services, guardians, and external actors according to current goals and guidelines.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Being responsible for teaching in the subject of handicrafts.
- Being responsible for planning, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of teaching.
- Supporting and challenging students so that they achieve good academic results and adapting teaching to their different needs and conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are educated and engaged, with good subject knowledge and a desire to make a real difference. You have the ability to create a safe and inspiring learning environment and enjoy working in a role where both structure and creativity are needed.
- We are looking for you with a teaching license with eligibility to teach in grades 3-6.
- You have the ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language and have general knowledge and experience of digital tools.
- You are familiar with and have knowledge of the curriculum for compulsory school.
To succeed in the role, you have:
- Relationship-building ability and quickly build safe, trusting relationships that make students feel comfortable and included.
- A collaborative working style, where you contribute positively and solution-focused in collaboration with colleagues, student health services, and guardians.
- Good structure and planning ability, which means you organize teaching well and work systematically with planning, implementation, and follow-up.
- Clear and inclusive leadership, where you create study peace, motivate students, and adapt teaching based on their needs.
- The ability to think creatively and see opportunities in every student's ideas.
In accordance with Gävle Municipality's values, you have a good attitude, a good ability to collaborate, and care for high quality in your work.
As a final candidate, you must be able to present a criminal record check from the police for work within school or preschool. This should not be attached to your application.
