Do you want to help create order in a world of information and, through your work, contribute to transparency, legal security, and democracy?
We are currently seeking an Archive Assistant for the municipal archive for a six-month temporary position, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
As an Archive Assistant, you will work closely with the municipality's archivists and serve as a vital support in daily archival work. You will operate in both digital and physical archive environments, contributing to the structured and correct management of the municipality's information.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Practical work involving the organization, indexing, and handling of archive documents.
- Support in information management and documentation.
- Providing service to departments, the public, and researchers.
- Working in the municipality's paper archives and supporting digital information management.
- Digitization work.
- Administrative tasks related to archive and information management.
You will collaborate closely with the municipality's archivists, the e-archivist, and other colleagues in the field.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- At least 120 university credits.
- At least one year of experience in administrative work.
- Good ability to express yourself well verbally and in writing in Swedish.
- Basic digital competence and a habit of working in a structured manner.
- Driver's license, class B.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working within the public sector.
- Basic knowledge of archival operations and information management.
- Experience working with documents, registers, or case management systems.
As a person, you are meticulous, structured, and service-oriented. You enjoy administrative tasks, take responsibility for your work, and collaborate well with others. We place great importance on personal suitability and are looking for someone who wants to contribute and develop within the archival field.
Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.

The Municipal Administration operates under the Municipal Council and is tasked with leading, coordinating, supporting, and following up on the municipality's collective activities.
In connection with the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Accepted documents include a passport, international ID card, driver's license + personal certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency, or other ID document that verifies citizenship. For some positions, a certificate from the police suspicion and criminal record register is required. We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or one of the Sámi varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sámi administrative areas.
In our municipality, several positions are classified under security levels, so security clearance may be required. These positions require Swedish citizenship.
