Ångermanland District Court is a medium-sized court centrally located in Härnösand. Härnösand is situated near the High Coast (Höga Kusten), known for its unique and beautiful landscape. Nature is close by, and distances between home, work, school, preschool, and activities are short. Härnösand is a diocesan and provincial capital with a rich cultural and outdoor life.

Ångermanland District Court is an open and modern workplace with skilled and engaged employees. The court operates an efficient and well-functioning service with an excellent collaborative climate. The court continuously works to develop its operations and working methods, has long applied a digital working approach, and offers good opportunities for remote work.

At Ångermanland District Court, criminal cases, civil cases, and matters from the municipalities of Härnösand, Kramfors, Sollefteå, and Örnsköldsvik are handled, as well as enforcement cases and certain types of matters from Västernorrland County. The court has a registry with a court seat in Härnösand and a court seat in Örnsköldsvik. Approximately 40 people work at the court.

During the year, the court is moving into a new court building in Härnösand, which will offer modern, secure, and functional premises. The new premises create excellent conditions for the court to continue growing and further developing its operations. At the same time, work continues to develop operations at the court seat in Örnsköldsvik.

Responsibilities

Being an acting judge (tf. rådman) means you will have a highly qualified, interesting, and varied job. The work as a judge is independent and demands high integrity, as well as the ability to collaborate and look out for the best interests of the entire court.

The work requires good legal knowledge, sound judgment, a sense of responsibility, flexibility, good collaboration skills, and a positive attitude. The work at the district court is team-based and characterized by a high pace. Therefore, we are looking for someone with high work capacity who enjoys varied and qualified work in an environment where we work together to solve tasks.

As an acting judge, you will be responsible for your own panel (rotel) and work on criminal cases, civil cases, and other matters. You will lead the work on your panel and act as a mentor for the clerk assigned to the panel. As an acting judge, you also play an important role in mentoring the court's prosecutors and in the continuous development work carried out at the court.

Qualifications

To be considered for employment, you must be or have previously been a permanent judge, be or have previously been a member or prosecutor in a court of appeal, or have performed the duties of a court of appeal prosecutor for at least six months. You must meet the requirements set out in the Judges' Council's profile for permanent judges. It is an advantage if you are a Court of Appeal Assessor (hovrättsassessor). Terms of Employment

Start date upon agreement. The positions are fixed-term contracts, lasting up to one year.

The Swedish Courts apply individual salary setting.
