Your new workplace

We are now seeking an engaged and self-reliant accountant who wants to be a key member of our team. You will be offered a position where you work both independently and in a group to ensure efficient and accurate handling of financial processes. Our financial processes are under constant development, and digital tools are becoming an increasingly important part of our daily work. As an accountant with us, you will have varied tasks requiring a holistic view of finance and skills in accounting.

The Service Center is organizationally placed under the Municipal Board Office and supports internal operational services for Sundsvall Municipality's administrations, companies, and foundations.

How you contribute in the role of Accountant

As an accountant with a focus on project accounting, you are responsible for ensuring that correct and quality-assured financial information is reported to various financiers. You act as a qualified support to the operations and project managers in matters concerning budget, follow-up, and financial management in projects.

The role involves close collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders, where you contribute to good financial control and understanding throughout the project's lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure correct project accounting according to current regulations and financiers' requirements.
• Establish, follow up on, and analyze project budgets.
• Support project managers in financial matters and decision-making bases.
• Compile and quality-assure financial reports to financiers.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of routines and processes within project accounting.
• Ensure good internal control and documentation.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in economics or equivalent that the employer deems equivalent. You have relevant experience in financial work, and it is an asset if you have worked with project accounting.

You have good knowledge of Excel and experience working in financial systems. Furthermore, you express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience from the public sector, research projects, or grant-funded operations. Knowledge of regulations related to project financing, such as EU projects, is also considered an asset.

To succeed in the role, we see that you are self-reliant and take responsibility for driving your work forward and ensuring delivery. You work in a structured and careful manner, with a good ability to handle details without losing the big picture. Furthermore, you are service-oriented and thrive in a supportive role where you collaborate well with others.

You have good communication skills and can explain economic relationships in a clear and pedagogical way. Finally, you have a good holistic view and understand your role in a larger context, where you actively contribute to the organization's goals. You work proactively and contribute to creating security and quality in financial processes. You have the ability to balance demands from different stakeholders and meet deadlines.
