Are you a security-conscious individual attracted to working with data of great importance to the Security Service's intelligence operations, contributing to the prevention, detection, and thwarting of crimes against Sweden's security?

Now you have the opportunity to apply for the role of GIS DevOps Engineer at the Swedish Security Service. Welcome with your application!

Location: Stockholm

Application Deadline: 2026-04-22

This is your assignment

In the role of GIS DevOps Engineer at the Swedish Security Service, you will work with the administration and development of map products.

This includes, among other things, managing the lifecycle of existing map support and geodata flows. You will develop new geodata flows and make map data available in close collaboration with our operational units and users.

You will work closely with your colleagues in an agile environment where collaboration, rapid feedback, and continuous improvement are part of daily life.

You thrive in both development and administration, and you know how to turn ideas into sustainable, secure solutions.

The data you work with is highly relevant to the Security Service's intelligence operations within our core areas: counter-espionage, constitutional protection, counter-terrorism, personal protection, and security protection. An important part of your work is to ensure that data is used safely and correctly by maintaining good data quality and complying with applicable regulations and security requirements. You will collaborate and interact with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.

Your location will be at the headquarters in Solna, and the work is performed on-site, meaning you will not have the option to work remotely. Travel within and outside Sweden may occur.

These are the qualifications we are looking for

Only those who meet the following requirements will be considered for the position.

Requirements:

  • Academic education in systems science, computer technology, or equivalent deemed relevant by the Swedish Security Service.
  • At least two years of experience as a system developer or in DevOps.
  • Good experience in programming with Python and PowerShell.
  • Very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Employment requires Swedish citizenship.

You may also have competencies that add breadth and complementary perspectives. If you can contribute with one or more of the following, it is meritorious:

  • Experience of development in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience of, or a genuine interest in, working with map information (GIS).
  • Experience of working with maps according to industry standards and/or in open formats.
  • DevOps competence.
  • Experience with Ansible.

This is the colleague we are looking for

We place great importance on your personal qualities and are looking for someone with good collaboration skills who sees the value in sharing knowledge among colleagues. The role requires both the ability and interest to understand the organization's requirements and needs.

As a person, you are responsible and persistent, and you find it easy to initiate and maintain constructive relationships required to solve your tasks.

Through knowledge and curiosity, you contribute to the unit's long-term work, and we expect you to have a good ability to drive your work forward independently.

You will work in an environment that is both planned and event-driven, where the ability to combine structure and planning with flexibility is a prerequisite for handling your tasks.

With a technical interest and curiosity, you keep yourself updated on both our external environment and the latest technology in the field.

The Swedish Security Service has high requirements for security and confidentiality; therefore, we expect you to have a high level of security awareness.
