Within the social services of Sundbyberg City, a development project is underway, with preventive parenting support as an important part. We are building the operation sustainably and long-term, with collaboration as a guiding principle.

At the support and treatment unit, there are 15 positions, primarily divided into two teams: the parenting advice team, which works with preventive parenting support, and the conversation reception for domestic violence, which provides advice, support, and treatment. Here, you will find qualified colleagues with a wealth of knowledge, commitment, humility, care, and creativity.

At the parenting advice team, both parenting supporters and family guides work. The parenting supporters reach out to all parents in Sundbyberg with children aged 0-18 years. Our three family guides primarily work in schools but also spend time each week at the unit's premises in Ekbacken. One of our family guides is planning for retirement, and we are looking for her successor.

About the Position

In this position as a family guide, your primary workplace will be Grönkullaskolan, a municipal F-9 school in Rissne. You will provide advice and support to parents in various forms - individually or in groups, with the child's needs at the center. You will also have an advisory role towards school staff, either individually or in forums organized by the school. Guiding, informing, referring, and following up are also important parts of the work.

The position of family guide has developed within the framework of a three-year crime prevention project in collaboration with schools and leisure activities. Initially, it was one position linked specifically to Grönkullaskolan. At the end of the project period, the school expressed great appreciation for the effort and the collaboration between the school and social services that it provided. This led to the operation being made permanent and expanded with two additional positions.

Qualifications

• You need to be a social worker or have another degree that the employer deems equivalent.
• You should have experience in parenting support, preferably universal and selective.
• You need to have an interest and experience in reaching and working with parents who have a low degree of trust in and knowledge about social services and other parts of society.
• You should also have good knowledge of the missions of social services and other authorities since the role of family guide includes referring parents when they need more or different types of support.

Meritorious

• You are welcome to have training and experience in working with parenting group activities.

The nature of the work means that we place great importance on personal suitability in general and the ability to take responsibility and collaborate in particular. You must enjoy collaborating and informing about the operation's mission in both larger and smaller contexts. You need to have a good ability to work independently, flexibly, and to creatively drive processes forward.

The position is a permanent full-time employment. Evening work may occur.
