Description

We at Sannaskolan are looking for a licensed special educator.

Sannaskolan, located in Majorna, is a school with approximately 525 students from grades 7 to 9. The school has a special needs group. The school, built in 1941, is a cultural heritage site and has been carefully renovated. We have a new large and beautiful schoolyard where students have many activities to choose from.

At Sannaskolan, we work according to the PALS method, which means that we believe all students want to do right, and by strengthening positive behavior, we support a good working environment at the school. We work based on three core values: Responsibility, Care, Ambition. Those of us who work at the school are passionate about ensuring our students are well and succeed in their academic performance. We know that all students mean well and want to do right.

Responsibilities

As a special educator with us, you will work at the organizational, group, and individual levels to create and develop learning environments that support all students' development towards the school's knowledge goals. At all levels, you will work with both promoting, preventive, and remedial measures. To thrive with us, you need to have a strong commitment to teaching development and be a good mentor.

You will be part of a student health team where you, together with the school's other professionals - principal, vice principal, psychologist, counselor, and school nurse - work to support and strengthen students' learning and development. Together with the student health team and other colleagues, you will conduct assessments and investigations to identify and meet students' needs for special support. Furthermore, you will help formulate action plans and conduct teaching based on what has been outlined in the action plans. Some collaboration with external actors may also occur.

You will work with several digital systems, including Vklass, which is the school's learning platform, and PMO.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher with further education as a special educator. We would like you to have experience in meeting students with difficulties in mathematics. Experience working as a special educator is an advantage. Experience with the digital systems PMO and Vklass is also a plus.

You find it easy to collaborate with and mentor teachers to create conditions for each student to develop. Encouraging participation, openness, and tolerance is self-evident to us. It is important that you can work independently within guidelines and practices and that you can recommend measures, document, and participate in decisions. The work requires a flexible approach, initiative, good collaboration skills, IT proficiency, and a positive view of students. You are open-minded and work based on research and proven experience to challenge yourself and others in your work.

We also see that you promote a respectful work climate and create good relationships with both colleagues and students and guardians. You do this by being open and accommodating and by listening to your surroundings to understand their needs.

Furthermore, you have the ability to remain stable under pressure, where you can balance different demands and maintain a positive attitude. Continuous development of the operations occurs with us, so we would like you to contribute new ideas and perspectives in work-related issues and challenge methods, working practices, and mindsets.

Warm welcome to submit your application!
