The Workplace

Carl Johanskolan is a middle school with 200 students, located in central Karlsborg, which has recently undergone an exciting transformation.

The entire school has been renovated and redesigned to adapt to a modern and functional school with the students' and teachers' working environment in focus.

Job Responsibilities

You will belong to our student health team, which consists of four special teachers, a special educator, a school nurse, a counselor, and a study and career counselor. The work as a special teacher means that you are responsible for planning and implementing teaching with students, individually and in groups, or together with the subject teacher in the classroom. You are skilled at adapting schoolwork according to level and are responsible for students' development. Together with the teaching teachers, you will work on making adjustments to both the learning environment and teaching so that all our students have the conditions to reach their goals. You will also assist in carrying out assessments and action plans and have contact with external actors.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a special teacher's degree. You have qualifications in Swedish and/or mathematics. You are qualified for middle school and/or for younger ages. You have a good understanding of the curriculum and goals and have the ability to explain problems and information to different recipients from different perspectives.

You have a good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can apply them in your daily work. You have good didactic and pedagogical skills and can thus also lead and organize the work to create study success and an accessible learning environment for all our students. You have knowledge of relevant digital tools. We want you to be able to develop your working methods and that you are interested in new research, development work, and that you always put the students at the center. We also appreciate if you have knowledge of assistive technology and clear pedagogical methods.

You are interested in seeing other people grow and develop. You have the ability to create good relationships. You take your own initiatives with the student's best interests in focus and have good collaboration skills. You are flexible and think outside the box to find the best solutions for the student. You collaborate easily with guardians, colleagues, and students. You are structured but still flexible. You enjoy making your own decisions but feel that collaboration with others is a prerequisite for successful work results. You focus on children's participation.
