Kungälv Municipality is looking for you who want to make a difference!

We need professional and motivated staff to deliver welfare services of high quality. Here, commitment and professional service go hand in hand while you help influence people's everyday lives and society at large. A good workplace culture and support for your personal development are important to us. Your contribution matters!

Description

Fontinskolan is a municipal F-6 school located in the heart of Kungälv with close proximity to transportation and recreational areas.

We who work here enjoy our tasks and often share laughter. We are happy to collaborate, unafraid to meet new working methods while being firmly rooted in our school's history. Many of our students leave elementary school with good results and high confidence in their abilities. The students have been given the opportunity to explore, learn, and conquer new interests together with others in one of our four after-school centers.

Fontinskolan is, in the best sense of the word, an ordinary school and we highly value the after-school center. Time spent in the after-school center plays an important role in our students' daily lives. At the school, you will find over 350 students and nearly 45 adults working here. With us, you will encounter a wide variety of both simple and challenging situations for us and our students.

Tasks

We are looking for two after-school teachers, and the positions may differ slightly depending on your additional qualifications. Both of you will work as after-school teachers after school hours and during school time, you may teach music or art, as well as take on roles as playground supervisors or work together with classroom teachers.

Together with two colleagues and children, you will plan, implement, and evaluate the after-school center's activities. You will plan for a situation-driven and experience-based learning approach that is based on all students' ability to develop their social, linguistic, technical, practical, and aesthetic competencies. You will create a visible and sustainable structure in the department, with room to practice interaction and turn-taking in small and large groups.

When teaching music, you will work in a spacious and well-equipped music room. You will plan and evaluate the teaching together with an experienced music teacher colleague.

When teaching art, you will work in a class in grade 3 and collaborate with a colleague who has their assignment in the parallel class. You will both be active in the students' home classrooms.

You will also play an important role in both large and small transitions, from annual handovers to going down to the cafeteria for the afternoon meal. You are part of our work for active recess and have fixed times each week when you work as playground educators.

You will participate in initiatives for the development of the after-school center where you, in collaboration with colleagues and other staff at the school, continuously and systematically reflect on and discuss the content and conditions of the after-school center. Your observations of children's development as individuals and in groups are an important part of our mapping of children in need of guidance, stimulation, and support.

Qualifications

We are looking for two licensed after-school teachers or leisure educators, who have music or art as a teaching subject. We would like you to have work experience from after-school centers, but we are also interested in those who have recently completed their education as we believe that your curiosity and fresh knowledge can be an asset to us.

The assignment in the after-school center requires the ability to establish structure and collaboration with students, homes, and colleagues. It is very important to us that you are professional in your interactions with our children and their parents. You meet them with warmth, humor, and tolerance for everyone's differences. You are genuinely interested in children's play and how their ability to form strong relationships with others develops. You want to follow and contribute to children learning to handle and move on from conflicts and other difficulties, their musical creations, their artistic expressions, and their communicative development. You are also interested in spending time outdoors in playful ways with children and in children's digital worlds. We need to become better at meeting children growing up in multilingual environments, so professional experience working with multilingual children and students is an advantage.
