Änggården is located in a magical environment, just a stone's throw from the sparkling sea on the western side of Orust. Surrounding the house is lush nature, a football field for ball lovers, a lovely bathing area, and easy-to-navigate walking paths. Outside the house, there is a cozy veranda and a patio at the back with a grill and space for gardening – perfect for growing both vegetables and community!

Indoors, you will find a calm, impression-sanitized, and inspiring educational environment, with a creative studio, a gym for movement and play, a spa for recovery, and several group rooms where ideas can bubble up. There is space for seven children in short-term care, and the resource school welcomes around ten students – a small, safe, and wonderful place where everyone can feel at home.

Your tasks

We are now looking for an engaged special educator to Änggården's resource school who wants to make a real difference for students in need of special support. With us, you will meet students with extensive needs for special support, often in combination with neuropsychiatric disabilities and problematic school absenteeism. Our operations are characterized by high staff density, clear structure, and a strong focus on relationships. We work long-term and persistently to create security, motivation, and a return to learning. Your work as a special educator involves closely collaborating with teachers, resource educators, the school social team, and the rest of the student health team to create the best conditions based on each student's needs. This work includes:

• mapping students' needs and analyzing physical, social, and educational learning environments
• designing, following up, and evaluating action programs
• working proactively and reactively towards students with problematic school absenteeism
• guiding and supporting staff in special educational matters
• taking a central role in developing teaching and interventions around the students
• contributing to developing structures, methods, and adaptations in teaching
• collaborating with guardians and external actors
• keeping up with new research and implementing it in the operations
• actively participating in the school's systematic quality work

About you

We are looking for someone who is a trained special educator and has teaching qualifications in some of the grades 1-9. As a special educator, you see opportunities where others see obstacles and have a strong belief in every student's potential for development. You have experience working with students in need of special support, good knowledge and experience working with students facing problematic school absenteeism and low-arousal responses, a good ability to work structured and flexibly, and a solution-focused and relational approach, and you are used to working both independently and in teams.
