Special Teacher/Special Educator at SiS Youth Home Margretelund

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. With us at SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Margretelund receives non-compulsory school-age girls and boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse. We operate in Lidköping and near Falköping.

Job Description

As a special teacher/special educator at SiS Youth Home Margretelund, you play an important role in ensuring that the students' education functions and that the learning environment is adapted to the needs of the individual. You will work closely with students in need of special support. You will also collaborate closely with teachers to develop the school's special educational competence. Your work includes handling documentation such as educational investigations and action plans, as well as serving as a support person in educational matters at various levels within the organization. In the school's student health team, you have a key role in coordinating and following up on the adaptations and measures that have been decided. You will also work closely with treatment staff as education is often part of the youths' treatment.

Qualifications

You are a qualified special teacher with special educational competence. Through education and/or experience, you have good knowledge of how education within introductory programs and primary school is organized, and you are driven to develop learning environments that meet the needs of students with a wide range of conditions. You find it easy to collaborate and have an unpretentious approach. You have good analytical skills and see opportunities rather than obstacles. The ability to build trusting relationships with colleagues and students is crucial in your work. You need to be flexible and enjoy change.

It is also an advantage if you have experience in similar work as well as investigation and mapping work.

At SiS, we care about good employee engagement. This means that you, as an employee, take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee engagement.
