Job Advertisement: Swedish Teacher
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. With us at SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS youth home Margretelund receives non-compulsory school-age girls and boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse. We operate in Lidköping and near Falköping.
Job Description
SiS youth home Margretelund is now looking for a Swedish teacher, qualified to teach at the upper secondary level. As a teacher with us, you will teach in small groups with additional adjustments based on each student's needs. Almost all teaching occurs within the framework of the introductory program. We have our students for shorter or longer periods, and it is important to maintain a positive approach and a belief in each individual's potential for development. The students' varying experiences and results from previous schooling mean that the teaching can be both motivational and knowledge-transmitting.
You will plan, implement, follow up, and document the teaching. You will also collaborate with and receive support from other professional groups such as career counselors, treatment secretaries, treatment pedagogues, and psychologists.
Qualifications
You should be attracted to the opportunity to teach and build trusting pedagogical relationships in smaller teaching groups consisting of students with psychosocial issues and criminality. It is important that you can identify and meet the student's needs with high realistic expectations and motivate and guide the student towards their goals.
We prefer that you are unpretentious, flexible, can set and maintain boundaries in a respectful manner, and have confidence that all students can find a path to education and work.
You must have:
- Teaching certification, and qualification to teach Swedish at the upper secondary level.
- The ability to plan, teach, and follow up on your teaching.
- Experience in pedagogical work in a school environment.
It is also meritorious if you:
- Have experience working within introductory programs and working with special teaching groups.
At SiS, we value good employee engagement. This means that you as an employee take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee engagement.
Employment:
