University Lecturer in Educational Science with a Focus on Vocational Didactics

We are looking for an engaged lecturer who wants to contribute to the development of future vocational and subject teachers.
In your role as a lecturer, you will primarily teach in the vocational teacher program in courses related to vocational didactics, but also in courses that highlight special education within the vocational teacher program and the subject teacher program. In the subject teacher program, you will also teach in the educational science core and social studies. We are looking for someone with good pedagogical skills who has a solid understanding of digitalized teaching practices and an interest in working closely with students in their professional development.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching in vocational didactics, special education, social studies, and workplace-based education (VFU)
- VFU visits to students undertaking workplace-based education within the vocational and subject teacher programs
- Thesis supervision in social studies within the subject teacher program
- Education, research, collaboration, and administrative work
- Follow the development within their subject area and the societal development that is relevant to the work at the university
Eligibility requirements for employment as a university lecturer:
- Demonstrated pedagogical skills. Applicants lacking pedagogical merits from an academic environment must have competence equivalent to the university's eligibility requirements, although this may have been achieved in ways other than within the academic environment.
- Completed higher education pedagogical training of at least ten weeks or equivalent competence. If higher education pedagogical training is lacking, employment may still occur on the condition that the employee completes the training during the first two years of employment.
- A degree at an advanced level or equivalent. In some cases, vocational competence may be qualifying instead of a degree at an advanced level. For this to be applicable, it must involve vocational competence that is assessed to be equivalent to a degree at an advanced level and relevant to the tasks included in the employment.
For this position, the following is also required:
- Vocational teacher degree
- Subject teacher degree
- Special educator
- Knowledge of digital teaching practices
Meritorious for the position:
- Experience and demonstrated competence in teaching vocational didactics
- Experience in supervising theses
- Experience in teaching special education in the vocational and subject teacher programs
- Certification in social studies
- Research experience
- Good collaboration skills

- Other vocational skills
In the assessment, pedagogical skills will be prioritized first. Scientific skills will be prioritized second. Collaborative skills will be prioritized third. Administrative skills will be prioritized fourth. Finally, leadership skills and other vocational skills will be weighted equally and prioritized fifth.
In the assessment of skills, the subject area of the employment, subject description, and job responsibilities will be considered.
Other:
The position is a permanent employment. A six-month probationary period may apply.
