Do you want to work with opinion formation and contribute to strengthening school leaders' voices in the public debate? As a press secretary at Sweden's School Leaders, you will play a central role in the organization's media work, where you drive press issues, develop messages, and support the organization's representatives in their contact with the media. You will be part of an engaged office in central Stockholm, where your work contributes to highlighting the important role of school leaders in preschool and school.

Sweden's School Leaders is the largest management union within Saco and a strong trade and professional union for school leaders. The organization gathers approximately 17,500 members – principals, vice principals, and other school leaders – who lead and develop Swedish preschool and school every day.
Sweden's School Leaders is one of Saco's fastest-growing unions and plays a central role in driving issues related to school leadership, working conditions, quality, and the profession's status. Through its work, the organization contributes to strengthening school leaders' conditions for success in their management roles and serves as a clear voice in school policy contexts.
The organization's office consists of 15 employees and is located in central Stockholm. The organization is characterized by high competence, close collaboration, and short decision-making paths, with a strong focus on creating value for its members and for the school's societal mission.

Job Responsibilities
As a press secretary at Sweden's School Leaders, you will play a central role in driving and developing the organization's press and opinion work. You will work in close dialogue with the organization's educational policy manager and also collaborate with the marketing and communications manager, chief negotiator, and the organization's chairman.
The role involves both strategically and operationally working to create impact for the organization's prioritized issues in the public debate. You will identify news opportunities, proactively drive press work, and support the organization's representatives in their media contacts.
You will also be responsible for the organization's opinion workshop, where you provide support to members and local elected officials in their opinion-forming work.
Main Responsibilities
• Drive and develop the organization's proactive press work and identify news opportunities
• Be responsible for media contacts and act as a link between the organization and journalists
• Write press releases, debate articles, talking points, and message papers
• Monitor media and handle reactive media responses
• Prepare the organization's chairman and other representatives for interviews and appearances
• Provide advice and media training to members and local elected officials through the organization's opinion workshop
• Participate in the editorial board for the member magazine Skolledaren and contribute to the dialogue with the magazine's editorial team
• Collaborate with colleagues in the office to ensure coordinated and trust-building communication
Education, Experience, and Personal Qualities
Relevant academic education in media and communication studies, journalism, or equivalent
Experience in press and opinion work, for example as a press secretary, PR consultant, journalist, or communicator
Documented experience in media relations and a good understanding of how to create impact in both traditional and digital media
Very good ability to formulate target group-adapted messages in speech and writing
Good knowledge of Swedish, in speech and writing
Meritorious:
Experience from politically governed operations
Experience in opinion formation and campaign work in social media
Knowledge of AI and digital tools
To succeed in this role, you are a skilled communicator with a strategic approach and a genuine interest in social issues. You have a very good linguistic ability and can quickly translate complex issues into clear and impactful messages. As a person, you are relationship-building, creative, and comfortable collaborating with both colleagues, journalists, and elected officials. You take responsibility from idea to implementation and thrive in a role where you can work both strategically and operationally to create impact in the public debate. About the Position
This position is a direct recruitment, which means that the recruitment process is conducted through Bravura and you will be employed directly by Sweden's School Leaders.
