The Department of Occupational Health, Psychology, and Sports Science is one of the three departments at the Academy of Health and Working Life.

Within the department, there are master's and doctoral programs in occupational health science, personnel and working life programs with psychology as the main subject, a master's program in psychology with a focus on psychosocial work environment, and a sports science program with a focus on health-promoting lifestyle. Additionally, there are independent courses and commissioned education.

The Department of Occupational Health, Psychology, and Sports Science is now seeking a professor in psychology.

Job Responsibilities

The position includes research, teaching (course development, supervision, and examination at both undergraduate and advanced levels in psychology), as well as teaching and supervision at the doctoral level within the doctoral education rights for Health-Promoting Work Life. The position also includes some administration. The applicant is expected to collaborate with other research groups in Sweden and abroad, and to utilize their research in collaboration with, among others, the regional labor market. The position includes developing and practicing good academic citizenship by taking responsibility for and developing the academic environment, both internally at the university and in the scientific community at large. The position also involves actively contributing to the scientific environment at the university.

The place of employment is Gävle.

Qualifications

To be eligible for appointment as a professor in psychology at the University of Gävle, the candidate must have demonstrated scientific and pedagogical competence at the professor level within the subject of the position. The pedagogical competence must be documented in such a way that the quality can also be assessed. The assessment of pedagogical competence will be given equal weight as the assessment of scientific competence.

The applicant must have supervised at least one doctoral student throughout their doctoral education. The applicant must also have documented experience of successful research and education relevant to work and organizational psychology. Furthermore, the applicant must have proven good ability to collaborate, engage with the surrounding community, and contribute to a good educational and research environment. The applicant must, considering the content and tasks of the position, demonstrate good ability to express themselves in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

The applicant must have the ability to seek and obtain external research funding competitively.

The position is permanent and full-time. We apply a probationary period. Start date by agreement.
