After School Teacher at Åkerskolan

Åkerskolan is a K-9 school with approximately 450 students. The school is located in a beautiful environment in the community of Åkers styckebruk, close to nature, green areas, and sports facilities. Åkerskolan is an incredibly important part of the local community.

We are looking for a licensed teacher for our after-school program who is passionate about pedagogical work and wants to help make Åkerskolan the best in the municipality. Are you one of them?

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of teacher in the after-school program with us, you will plan, implement, follow up, and evaluate the operations according to applicable governing documents and goals. Based on the curriculum and our governing documents, you will create an environment in the after-school program aimed at strengthening our students in both their knowledge development and personal growth. During parts of your position, you will teach students during the school day.

With us, as a teacher in the after-school program, you will work to create a safe, dynamic, and meaningful learning environment for our students throughout their school day and offer our students a meaningful and fun leisure time. This includes encouraging diverse contacts, social community, and strengthening group relationships.

An important part of your assignment is the work with the quality assurance of the after-school program and the unit. You want to develop the after-school program's mission, goals, and working methods. You will also work together with the staff in the work team to develop children's influence, participation, and personal responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has/is:

• a licensed primary school teacher with a focus on after-school programs or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• documented and current experience of similar work.
• good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can apply them in daily work.
• good experience using computers/IT as support in the work.
• good ability to communicate in Swedish in both speech and writing.

To be eligible for a permanent position, a teaching license must be presented.

Furthermore, you are solution-focused and strive to achieve higher goal fulfillment together with your colleagues.

In accordance with the law on licensing requirements (SFS 2014:458), teachers without a license cannot receive permanent employment. Therefore, teachers without a license are offered a fixed-term employment until a license can be presented.
