Permanent position 100% with duties at the hospital church, connected to the work team of Trollhättan's Northern Parish.

In the area of Skogshöjden, there is the emergency hospital NÄL, Northern Älvsborg County Hospital. Now you have the chance to work in an exciting and meaningful position with tasks in the hospital church. An ecumenical and competent work team in a multicultural place is looking for a colleague who is a deacon. The team consists of a pastor and two deacons, one of whom is the operations manager. A priest and deacon in parish service regularly serve at the Hospital Church.

Job Description

• You perform regular hospital church work with patients, relatives, and staff.
• You lead a support group for the grieving (evening work, shifted working hours together with another colleague).
• You participate in a reflection group for region-employed staff.
• You are responsible for regular contact with 1–2 care departments/clinics.
• You are involved in information and communication work primarily at the hospital and in some cases externally. (AT/ST doctors, study visits, information in parishes, etc.)

We are looking for someone who:

Dares to enter situations and stay in them, but also meets people individually. You have solid experience as a deacon and confidence in your professional role. The position includes pastoral care, meetings with fellow human beings, staff groups, and training of staff and bereavement groups. We therefore prefer that you have experience in mentoring (training, informing) and you should have good experience in conversations. The position includes scheduled on-call duty during the day one weekend per month. You must have a driver's license and access to a car and be able to report within an hour during on-call duty.

Qualifications

• Ordained deacon according to the Church of Sweden's order with at least five years of experience in parish work.
• It is an advantage if you have further education in pastoral care for young people and experience working with families.
• You view computers and digital work tools as support and are not afraid of handling them.
