Your Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher, you have the overall pedagogical responsibility for education and teaching. You lead a team consisting of three childcare workers, and together you create a safe and stimulating environment based on the curriculum. Your mission is characterized by professional freedom where you have ample space to shape the teaching. You are expected to be a good pedagogical leader who collaborates relationally with both children, colleagues, and guardians.

To provide you with the right conditions, we have structured time for reflection every week. You have one hour set aside for collaboration with other preschool teachers in the building and one hour for planning with your closest team. In addition to this, you also have your own planning time as a preschool teacher. We work thematically with a particular focus on language development, and we value teamwork and mutual support across departments.

Your Workplace

The current position is at Melskogsvägens Preschool, located in the same building as Brokind School, within walking distance to forests and other stimulating play environments. We have a close collaboration in the building and open and close together. The preschool also has a furnished preschool bus that travels to various excursion destinations – a unique asset that inspires new learning environments.

As a preschool teacher in the area, you will be part of a team that is constantly learning and developing. You have access to present leadership and strong support functions in the form of a special educator, lead preschool teacher, health inspirers, IKT manager, and cultural representatives. We care for your professional development through regular training and conduct annual surveys of placement wishes to create the best possible conditions for you.

The school has its own kitchen where our fantastic chefs prepare meals from scratch, allowing for educational meals for 20 SEK per day. Who We Are Looking For

Primarily, we are looking for someone with a preschool teacher certification. Secondly, we seek someone with a degree from a preschool teacher education program. Alternatively, you may be in the final stages of your preschool teacher education.

It is a requirement that you have experience working with children in a curriculum-driven preschool through practice, employment, or volunteer work.

You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary so that you can organize and implement the work in accordance with the curriculum (Lpfö18) to support the child's language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

In your role as a preschool teacher, you create good relationships and collaborate well with children, colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community relevant to your professional role. You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a sensitive manner in teaching and the daily life of the preschool. You lead the work with both children and colleagues through motivation, engagement, and participation. The role also involves working with applicable goals and quality standards for the preschool together with your colleagues.
