Do you want to help create the best conditions for children's and students' development and learning? Boxholm municipality is now looking for a special educator with assignments in preschool, from preschool class to grade 9, and adapted primary school.

About the role

As a special educator in Boxholm municipality, you are part of a central student health team where you work in teams on behalf of the principal. You are part of a team consisting of a curator, school nurses, school doctors, and school psychologists.

The municipality has six preschools and two primary schools, giving you the opportunity to work broadly – from the youngest children in preschool to students in grade 9 and within adapted primary school.

The goal of student health is to promote learning and remove barriers to learning. The work is health-promoting, preventive, and remedial at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The work is characterized by collaboration and a sense of helping each other. All adults in the school are important for our students, and our different competencies and experiences contribute to the whole.

Your tasks include, among other things:

• Guiding, training, and lecturing preschool staff based on children's needs and development.
• Working with adaptations and support for children and students with various needs.
• Conducting assessments and investigations of children’s and students’ needs.
• Providing consultative support to staff to create a more inclusive and adapted learning environment.
• Supporting and guiding parents to help them understand and support their children's development and learning.
• Collaborating with external actors such as habilitation, hearing pedagogues, speech therapists, and the special educational authority.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a special education degree and experience working with children and students in need of special support.
