Are you passionate about building warm relationships with youth?
Join us as part of a development-oriented subject team at a school with many colleagues and close collaborations. Welcome to Ekholmsskolan!
Your Responsibilities
Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work based on the curriculum. The work is done both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. In teaching, we start from clear pedagogical plans.
As a teacher in grades 7-9, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others present in the school to achieve a higher degree of goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.
You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.
This position involves teaching mathematics, science, and technology, as well as mentoring a class together with a colleague. In mathematics, you collaborate with ten subject colleagues in a subject team and with lead teachers, among other things, you work together to increase equity in the subject.
Your Workplace
Ekholmsskolan is a grades 7-9 school in the southern districts of Linköping. The school has about 400 students, including a special education group and a resource school focusing on autism. The school employs 60 staff, most of whom are teaching teachers. The school has a full EHT with our three full-time mentors. The primary school also shares a building with an adapted primary school.
We strive for Ekholmsskolan to be a safe and accepting school, where everyone can be just as they are. As an employee with us, you will have engaged colleagues who appreciate collaborating around students in need of support. Our common mission is to help our students reach their knowledge goals, become democratic citizens, and thrive along the way.
Who We Are Looking For
Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license with qualifications to teach mathematics and physics, chemistry, or technology in grades 7-9. Alternatively, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education for grades 7-9. You may also be at the end of your teacher training for grades 7-9.
It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or employment. It is advantageous if you have taught in grades 7-9 for at least one school year.
In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is to ensure that you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), can organize and carry out work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that are part of your professional role.
