Your Responsibilities

As a textile craft teacher at Skeda/Slaka School, you will be responsible for teaching students in grades 1–6. You will conduct your lessons independently, but will have close collaboration with your colleague in wood and metal crafts regarding planning and assessment. You will be part of one of the school’s work teams, where you, together with engaged colleagues, work to create an inspiring and safe learning environment for all students.

Your daily tasks include:

  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in textile crafts based on the curriculum.
  • Inspiring students to creative expression and developing their ability to work with various materials and techniques.
  • Documenting students' learning and providing feedback that supports their development.
  • Actively working with values to promote an environment characterized by safety and respect.

Your Workplace

Welcome to Skeda/Slaka School, a K-6 school with after-school care, beautifully located in scenic surroundings just outside Linköping. Here, students and staff meet in a safe and joyful environment where curiosity and learning are at the center. The operations are conducted at two schools, Skeda School and Slaka School. Students move between the schools during the school day, giving them access to varied learning environments. In this position, you will be stationed at Slaka School.

With approximately 300 students and a team of 20-25 teachers, our school is characterized by a small-scale organization that creates a unique opportunity for close relationships. You will have the chance to build meaningful relationships, both with students and colleagues, which promotes students' learning and development and creates a strong sense of community within the work team. Who We Are Looking For

Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach grades 1-6 in textile crafts. Alternatively, we are looking for someone who has completed teacher training for grades 1-6. You may also be nearing the end of your teacher training for grades 1-6. It is advantageous if you have qualifications to teach other subjects in grades 1-6, based on the needs of the organization.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have taught grades 1-6 for at least one school year. It is also advantageous if you have experience in grading or documenting students' learning during the school year.

In your role as a teacher for grades 1-6, you have a good understanding of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You possess good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary for you to organize and implement work in accordance with the curriculum (Lgr22) to support students in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher for grades 1-6, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the lessons. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for students' development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other community contacts relevant to your professional role.
