Your Responsibilities

Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work according to the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others involved in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you utilize the experiences and knowledge of various professions.

The position includes mentorship.

Your Workplace

Linköping Sports High School is a school and meeting place for sports-interested students. There are both students who are elite athletes competing in various sports and those who want to train at a high level. At the Sports High School, we place great emphasis on having a holistic view of the student's learning and well-being in collaboration with colleagues, student health, and other relevant functions. The school is located in the Knowledge Gallery in central Linköping.

The Sports High School has sports profiles in golf, ice hockey, handball, figure skating, dance, swimming, padel, horseback riding, tennis, football, and a focus on training and health. The school offers Natural Sciences, Economics, Social Sciences, and Child and Recreation programs.

Who We Are Looking For

Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach Swedish and Religion at the high school level. Alternatively, we are looking for someone who has completed teacher training for high school. You may also be at the end of your education to become a high school teacher. It is advantageous if you have qualifications in rhetoric and pedagogy, as well as training in creative writing or literature.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have taught at the high school level for at least one academic year. It is also advantageous if you have experience in grading or documenting students' learning throughout the year. If you have worked as a team leader or held a first teacher position before, that is also an advantage.

In your role as a high school teacher, you have a good understanding of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary for you to organize and carry out work in accordance with the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25) so that students receive support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other community contacts relevant to your professional role.
