Your Responsibilities
We are now looking for new music teachers for the Culture School, string teachers, woodwind teachers, and piano teachers. The extent of the positions is between 40-100% depending on the needs of the operation and your own wishes. As a string teacher, you will teach violin/viola; the position is permanent. The woodwind teacher primarily teaches clarinet but also saxophone. This position is a temporary contract until 31/12 - 2026. The piano teacher position is permanent. You are also welcome to have a secondary instrument, such as oboe.

Your Workplace
Linköping Culture School is a voluntary school activity that teaches approximately 3,500 students in dance, theater, music, and visual arts. The teaching is aimed at children and young people in Linköping Municipality aged approximately 4-22 years. The Culture School has an ensemble profile, meaning that all teaching leads to collaboration in various ways and across all art forms. The teaching takes place in our own premises in the Concert & Congress House, but we also have extensive operations in most parts of the municipality. The administration of the Culture School consists of a Culture School Director, a coordinator, and two cultural assistants. Teaching is carried out by approximately 54 teachers.
Who You Are
We are looking for engaged and inspiring music teachers who want to be part of young people's musical development. You have a pedagogical university degree from a music teacher program with a focus on culture school or instrumental and ensemble pedagogy, or other education deemed equivalent, as well as a specialization in your main instrument. We would like you to have previous experience working in a Culture School and teaching your instrument, and we welcome applicants with one or more secondary instruments. If you also have training in Suzuki pedagogy, it is considered an advantage. Experience in group teaching for younger students, such as string play or rhythm, as well as leading orchestras and ensembles at various levels, is also an advantage.
You have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as the work involves teaching in Swedish to children and young people of varying ages. We value a broad musical competence with in-depth knowledge of your main instrument and preferably also in one or more secondary instruments. If you also have experience or special knowledge in, for example, folk music, big band, baroque music, or symphony orchestra, we see it as a plus, as well as knowledge in conducting.
You have a strong commitment and contribute energy and enthusiasm to your work. You are attentive and have the ability to create participation and contribute to a positive work environment. Creativity in the teaching role together with colleagues and students is seen as a natural success factor where new ideas for both our operations and your own teaching contribute to the school's development. The work requires independence in both planning and teaching and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes.
