Your responsibilities

Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. The work is done both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. In this position, you will collaborate with subject teachers in other subjects within the technology program, primarily in the area of community building and environment.

As a teacher, you will work with guardians, colleagues, and others involved in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You will start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection in both planned and spontaneous situations. To benefit students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you utilize the experiences and knowledge of various professions.

This position involves teaching architecture, mentoring, and teaching another subject relevant to the technology program, based on your qualifications and competencies.

Your workplace

Berzeliusskolan is centrally located in Linköping with modern facilities. It includes the upper grades of compulsory school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The upper secondary school comprises science and technology programs as well as introductory programs focusing on language introduction and individual alternatives. There are approximately 1900 students, of which over 1000 are in upper secondary school, and about 330 staff members at the school.

You who are applying

We are primarily looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach architecture in upper secondary school. Alternatively, we are looking for someone who has completed teacher training for upper secondary school. You may also be at the end of your education to become a teacher in architecture in upper secondary school. It is advantageous if you have qualifications to teach additional subjects in upper secondary school relevant to the technology program.

Experience working in a curriculum-driven school through internships or employment is a requirement.

In your role as a teacher in upper secondary school, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25) and other governing documents. You have strong communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary for you to organize and carry out the work so that students receive support in their language and communication development according to the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25). You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other community contacts relevant to your professional role.
