About the Job

We are looking for an engaged career and guidance counselor who is passionate about inspiring and guiding young people in their important choices. With us, you will have a varied and significant role where you work with students from preschool up to grade 9, and also continue to support our citizens who wish to proceed to high school and adult education, as well as young people under municipal activity responsibility.

In Ydre, there are two primary schools, Ydreskolan in Österbymo (F-9) and Hestraskolan (F-3). The municipality does not have its own high school or adult education.

As our career and guidance counselor, you will be based at Ydreskolan, where you will be in close proximity to the principal, administrative staff, and student health. In our small and close-knit organization, you will have proximity to operations and a rewarding collegial exchange where we together challenge and develop our work. Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in career and guidance counseling or another relevant education deemed equivalent by the employer.

The role of a career and guidance counselor involves close collaboration with teaching staff and other personnel, which requires good teamwork skills and clear communication. Collaboration is also central in working with young adults and adults, especially with staff in social assistance, other authorities such as the employment agency, and various educational providers. You need to be able to adapt your communication style according to both the recipient and the situation, as an important part of the job is to provide accurate and clear information to individuals with different linguistic backgrounds and experiences.

We are looking for someone with a service-oriented approach who enjoys meeting and guiding people with various needs. Flexibility, structure, and responsibility are important qualities as the work environment is characterized by a varied pace and rapid changes.

You have good computer skills and feel comfortable working in various digital environments. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
