Stenungsund Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 28,030 inhabitants, a strong business community, residential environments close to the sea, and good communication opportunities. The municipality's vision is to reach 35,000 inhabitants by 2035. Stenungsund Municipality is part of the Gothenburg Region's municipal association, which is a forum for cooperation and exchange of experiences, as well as several other inter-municipal collaborations.

The Individual and Family Care (IFO) consists of both authority exercise and service provision and meets residents in need of support in various ways. Within IFO, we have units such as children and youth, foster homes, family law, family support, financial assistance, adults, LSS, social psychiatry, assistance for the elderly, and administration.

The Foster Home Group is now looking for a new employee, as one of our experienced child secretaries is moving on to other tasks. The Foster Home Group is a stable work group consisting of five child secretaries and six foster home secretaries, as well as two experienced team leaders. In the unit, we work with Skolfam, and therefore we also have a special educator and a psychologist who work together with us.

The workplace is centrally located in Stenungsund and is easily accessible by public transport from Gothenburg and Uddevalla. There is a wide range of shopping and lunch restaurants near the municipal building, and outside the office window, there is an opportunity to see the sea!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to be an important part of our work to ensure that placed children and youth receive the best possible support and make a difference every day?

As a child secretary, you are the child's social worker and are responsible for following up on the child's development and care in foster homes for children aged 0-20 according to the Social Services Act and LVU. The role requires you to have a good ability to build and create relationships with the children and youth you meet. The work involves a lot of collaboration with the child's guardians, foster homes, and other important external and internal actors. In your assignment, you work closely with foster home secretaries and are part of the tri-parenting model. Authority exercise and documentation are important parts of your assignment, both regarding legal security and quality. Stenungsund has been working with SkolFam for several years. The work involves both short and long travels. In the autumn of 2026, we will begin the implementation of Signs of Safety throughout child welfare. We are also systematically working on the transition to the new Social Services Act.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should have a degree in social work and preferably longer experience in authority exercise within children and youth. Experience in foster care is an advantage. Knowledge of current legislation and good knowledge of Swedish is a prerequisite. It is important that you enjoy working together, as the work involves teamwork with foster home secretaries and foster homes, as well as other actors. You should also be able to work independently. You need to be comfortable in meetings with both children, youth, and adults, have an easy time conversing with them, and be able to hold their stories. You enjoy expressing yourself in speech and writing and meeting people in various contexts while maintaining a child focus.

As a person, you need to be calm and secure and have achieved both personal and professional maturity. Good knowledge of child development is desirable, as well as good structure, a strong sense of responsibility, and a professional approach. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. A driver's license is a requirement.
