Do you want to help shape a completely new initiative for young adults in Vänersborg? We are now looking for a support pedagogue who wants to build the Health and Balance Group – where holistic health, motivation, and everyday support are at the center.

Work, employment, and integration (ASI) is an area of operation within Vänersborg Municipality that offers support to individuals who are far from the labor market. This includes the Employment Unit, which provides assessment, guidance, and work-preparatory measures, including practical activities and external placements.

ASI also includes Daily Activities according to LSS, with a wide range of occupations and professionals such as support pedagogues, support assistants, and operational leaders to strengthen individual participation and development.

Together, ASI creates a cohesive support system where each individual receives interventions tailored to their circumstances, with the goal of increasing independence, participation, and the opportunity to approach the labor market.

We are looking for a committed and secure support pedagogue who wants to be involved from the start and build a completely new group for young adults within ASI. You are passionate about creating structure, strengthening independence, and contributing to helping young people in social exclusion find a way back to a functioning everyday life. The Health and Balance Group is a new initiative for young adults who need support to regain routines, energy, and well-being. The group focuses on holistic health – a balance between physical activity, recovery, social contexts, and everyday skills. The goal is for participants to strengthen their motivation, increase their presence, and gradually approach studies, employment, or daily activities.

Job Responsibilities

As a support pedagogue, you will:

• Work together with the unit manager and other professionals within ASI to drive the operation towards common goals.
• Develop and shape the content of the Health and Balance Group.
• Plan and partially lead group activities related to health, everyday skills, and motivation.
• Support participants individually on their path to structure, independence, and balance.
• Contribute with a reflective and knowledge-based approach that enhances the quality for the individual.
• Work with documentation, planning, and follow-up according to applicable guidelines.

We are looking for someone who

• Has relevant education, such as in pedagogy, social work, disability studies, or similar.
• Has experience working with young adults or individuals in social exclusion.
• Is confident in leading groups while also meeting individuals where they are.
• Has a reflective attitude and a professional approach.
• Enjoys development work and wants to help shape a new operation.

Experience in LSS, psychosocial work, motivational interviewing, or health-oriented methods is advantageous.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in the field of disability and/or social psychiatry of at least 200 vocational college credits or 60 university credits.

You should have experience working with and knowledge of individuals with intellectual and/or mental disabilities. Experience working with individuals with autism or autism spectrum disorders and clear pedagogical methods is a requirement.

It is important that you have a positive view of people, that you are flexible, secure, and attentive, and that you have the ability to work both individually and in groups. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You will receive ongoing professional development in the field.

We also expect you to support the municipality's principles for employees, which include seeing oneself as part of a larger whole for the common mission, having the person in focus when performing your work, being loyal to the mission and the decisions made, and contributing to the development of the operation.

A driver's license and the ability to actively drive a manual transmission vehicle are required.
