Description
We are looking for an engaged support pedagogue for our group home on Huldas gata in Ytterby.
With us, you will have a meaningful job where you contribute every day to creating safety and quality of life for the residents. The position involves working days, evenings, and every other weekend according to a rotating schedule, and shifts may vary depending on the needs of the operation.
As a support pedagogue, you place the residents at the center and work together with the unit manager and colleagues in the staff group to implement measures according to LSS decisions. You will also be part of a support pedagogue network within the disability area in Kungälv Municipality.
We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to an operation characterized by development, innovation, and a high degree of quality and professionalism. Through a pedagogical and motivating approach, you support users in creating a safe, meaningful, and content-rich everyday life.
This is a 6-month temporary position with the possibility of extension. Start date as soon as possible by agreement.
Responsibilities
As a support pedagogue, you work closely with the unit manager and colleagues and take an active responsibility for developing the operation from a pedagogical perspective.
You guide and support the staff group in a structured and professional manner in their pedagogical work.
Your role includes developing, implementing, and following up on job descriptions, methods, and routines, always in line with the operation's goals, quality requirements, and applicable laws and guidelines. You guide colleagues in establishing implementation plans and ensuring correct social documentation in the Treserva journal system.
In addition to your pedagogical duties, you also participate in the practical, daily work with the residents. This may involve support with personal hygiene, cleaning, nutrition, cooking, shopping, medication management, social training, and cultural and leisure activities.
Meetings and collaboration with relatives and various actors around the residents are a natural and important part of the assignment. You are expected to handle these contacts with professionalism, clear communication, and a solution-focused approach.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an educated support pedagogue, social pedagogue, or has other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
- Has worked as a support pedagogue for at least 3 years.
- Has good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.
- Has good computer skills and feels comfortable using existing and new digital tools and services.
- Has a B driver's license.
Meritorious
- Has worked as a support pedagogue for more than 5 years.
- Experience working with IBIC and Positive Behavior Support (PBS).
We are looking for someone who is proactive, self-driven, and confident in leading, coaching, and supporting colleagues. You have a strong sense of responsibility, a good attitude, and good collaboration skills.
You are used to meeting people in various emotional situations and work reflectively and with risk awareness. You have theoretical and practical knowledge and experience working with individuals with neuropsychiatric behavioral issues, intellectual disabilities, and mental health challenges. You have worked with adapted response strategies, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).
What does our recruitment process look like?

- You must be able to provide at least two managerial references from your most recent employers.
- If you have previously been employed by Kungälv Municipality, we will contact your former manager to obtain internal references as part of our recruitment process.
- For this position, a background check will be conducted according to the law. Therefore, before employment can be finalized, an extract from the criminal and suspicion register must be presented, and the extract must not be older than six months.
