The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and for adults with addiction issues. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with addiction, across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work, or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS youth home Fagared receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and addiction. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.

Job Description

We are now looking for treatment pedagogues for our new department “Bryggan” which is set to start in the spring. It is an open department belonging to Fagared's youth home located in Lindome. As a treatment pedagogue at Bryggan, you will be involved in starting up a department from scratch. The young people placed in the Bryggan department are at the end of their placement period and need to be reintegrated into society. They live in their own apartments on the institution's premises and are planned to participate in activities in the surrounding municipalities.

The assignment as a treatment pedagogue is challenging and complex but at the same time very rewarding. As a treatment pedagogue at Bryggan, you will plan and be responsible together with your colleagues for the daily operations. The tasks are varied and place high demands on collaboration, commitment, and independence. In your work as a treatment pedagogue, you will support the young people in their daily lives, helping them make prosocial choices for the future. Practical tasks such as cleaning and cooking are included daily. Since the young people are planned to participate in both leisure activities and potential internships in the community, part of the job involves creating collaboration and maintaining contact with external organizations and workplaces. Motivating the young people to try out different leisure activities and participating yourself is also part of the assignment.

The target group of the department is boys aged 16-21 who are taken into care according to LSU and LVU.

Qualifications:

You share our vision of being a place for change, which permeates your approach, commitment, and attitude. You need to be a responsible, positive, and resilient person with a great ability to set boundaries while also creating engagement and participation. We expect you to be structured yet flexible as the work requires both long-term planning and the ability to act quickly in unexpected situations. A large part of the work involves motivation work, which means you need to have patience and a pedagogical approach. As a person, you are secure in yourself and can act calmly, controlled, and professionally in stressful situations.

All care and treatment interventions are documented daily, which means you need to be able to express yourself well in writing.
