Welcome to help shape the future of social services
Where we will work together with the needs of the community in focus!
Within our organization, we meet all ages, including children, youth, parents, individuals with dependencies, substance abuse or social psychiatric disabilities, victims of violence, and those in need of financial support. We work with authority exercise, assessed assistance measures, as well as preventive and advisory measures to reach people early.
Our organization has transitioned to a first-line social service with a single entry point for citizens, meaning that all cases are initially handled by a common reception unit. After that, investigations and further measures are conducted in a second line. This approach aims to make social services more accessible and effective for everyone who needs support. Collaboration is a central part of our working method as we recognize the importance of supporting each other to achieve the best possible outcomes for those we serve.
We are a sector driven by a genuine interest in our mission, where we aim to create conditions for equal and equitable living standards in Skövde through knowledge-based interventions.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are strengthening our investigation unit with an additional colleague!
The investigation unit in Skövde has 21 employees, including SUA (social workers with extended responsibility), senior social workers, social workers, and social administrators. The unit is divided into two groups, a children’s group and a youth group, where we are reinforcing the youth group with an additional position.
The youth group works to investigate the needs of children aged 13 and above. The children’s and youth groups assist each other as needed, and therefore the investigation work may also involve younger children.
Our work begins after the reception unit has initiated an investigation following an application or a report of concern. The work is conducted according to applicable laws, such as SoL, LVU, and LSB, and we use BBIC documentation as support and keep ourselves updated on issues regarding children’s needs and the challenges present in our environment. When the investigation concludes with a measure, the intervention unit takes over for follow-up care.
The work is conducted closely with colleagues, supported by senior social workers, SUA, and our social administrators. We have supervision and support both internally and externally and work extensively with co-handling.
We offer a pleasant and development-oriented workplace with engaged, knowledgeable colleagues and a sense of community in everyday life. Every Friday, the workgroup has a joint Friday breakfast, and we also have Friday meetings to reflect on the past week and take the weekend where we leave work at the workplace.
Do you want to contribute to creating safety and positive changes for children and families in Skövde? Then you could be our new colleague!
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work who wants to make a real difference for children and youth. You have a good ability to create and maintain trusting relationships and meet children, parents, and families with respect, attentiveness, and commitment.

You thrive in a role where case handling, documentation, and collaboration are a natural part of everyday life, and you find it easy to express yourself both verbally and in writing. We value your willingness and courage to think outside the box and contribute to the development of our working methods.
