The Care and Elderly Administration works with services for residents in need of care and support, as well as preventive health work for the elderly. The administration consists of over 2,600 employees, of which 90 are managers. Together, we perform meaningful work focused on those we serve through equal, gender-equal, and equivalent care and support.

We are now looking for a Unit Manager for the Development Unit in the Quality and Development Function.

The Development Unit coordinates the administration's systematic quality work and supports managers in follow-up, analysis, and development assignments. The unit also provides support in various development assignments related to the administration's four strategic development areas. The assignments are based on the needs of the operations and may involve project management, process development, or change management, sometimes in collaboration with other administrations.

You will report to the Quality and Development Manager.

The position is based at Ramnåsgatan in central Borås, close to the travel center.

As a unit manager, you will lead and develop the unit's work. You have personnel responsibility for a team of eleven employees consisting of business developers, project managers, administrative controllers, and dementia coordinators. The leadership is based on a coaching approach towards employees who are independent and experienced in their profession. You create conditions for employees to succeed in their assignments and enable a good working environment for the team.

You:

• set direction and prioritize assignments together with the business manager
• follow up results and drive the development of work methods
• collaborate closely with operations and other support functions
• personally carry out certain defined development assignments and investigations
• continuously follow up on the unit's assignments

You are part of a management group with three unit managers. In several of the unit's assignments, collaboration and coordination with other units in the Quality and Development Unit are crucial for a good and cohesive delivery to the administration's operations.

We are looking for someone with a university degree in public administration, social sciences, social work, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You should also have experience working in a politically governed organization.

It is advantageous to have:

• previous documented managerial experience, preferably in quality and development
• experience from public operations in the welfare sector
• several years of experience in change management, process development, or project management

You are strategic, analytical, and clear in your communication. You build trust, create collaboration, and drive development forward.

The role includes both strategic and operational work. Since the Development Unit is a support function, it is important that you focus on delivering good results in assignments and work supportively while being responsive to the needs of the operations. You need to have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
