Your New Workplace

We are looking for a high school teacher in chemistry for the Technology Program at Västermalm.

Sundsvall High School/Västermalm is an attractive and centrally located school; currently, over 1,200 students have chosen to complete their high school education with us! At Västermalm, we currently offer eight high school programs: Natural Science Program, Technology Program, IB - International Baccalaureate, Construction and Civil Engineering Program, Vehicle and Transport Program, Industrial Technology Program, Electrical and Energy Program, and Health and Social Care Program.

Västermalm also offers a high school engineering program. The Västermalm school unit also includes adapted high school and individual options.

Your Contribution as a Teacher

You will primarily teach chemistry in the Technology Program. Teaching in other programs may occur. The position includes mentorship and responsibility for the tasks within the program work team and subject team. You will work both independently and together with colleagues and students to plan and implement the educational activities. Together with your subject colleagues, you will work to create an accessible and clear learning environment where our students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

You will focus on students' goal fulfillment in close collaboration with school management and colleagues. You will actively participate in the school's joint systematic quality work and professional development. Your affiliation will be with the Technology Program. We have a well-developed collaboration between the school's various professions, which provides you with good support in different aspects of the work.

Your Competence and Experience

We are primarily looking for you who are a licensed high school teacher in chemistry in combination with another subject. We place great importance on personal qualities and value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs. You are a good leader both in and out of the classroom.

You are flexible, knowledgeable, engaged, and see opportunities in changes. You have the ability to work independently and strive to prepare students for higher education and future careers every day. We also see that you have good collaboration skills, enjoy working in teams, and are driven to create good opportunities for our students to achieve their goals every day.

You enjoy taking responsibility and see the mentorship role as an important part of your work. You easily build trust and feel comfortable having parent contacts. You value close collaboration with colleagues and are receptive to others' knowledge. You participate in collegial learning and have an interest in developing the school, even outside of teaching.
